What You Can Expect

From your very first contact with our practice, you’ll be treated as a valued guest. Our friendly and attentive staff are dedicated to making your experience as pleasant and stress-free as possible, from arranging convenient appointments to ensuring your comfort throughout your visit.

We believe in clear communication and personalised care. Depending on your needs, we offer a range of treatment options. At your consultation, you’ll receive a comprehensive, written treatment plan—complete with x-rays and images (if needed)—clearly outlining each available option and the steps involved. Our goal is to ensure you fully understand your treatment every step of the way and feel confident in the decisions you make about your dental health.

If you’re experiencing pain or discomfort, rest assured we prioritise emergency care and will always do our best to offer same-day appointments when possible. We are committed to finding effective solutions for every patient, and for many, finally achieving lasting relief is truly life changing.

Dental Care for Adults

  • Oral Hygiene:
Brush your teeth twice daily with a soft-bristled toothbrush; the smaller the toothbrush head, the more effectively you can reach every surface, even in hard-to-clean areas.
  • Flossing:
Don’t forget to floss daily, as it’s the best way to remove plaque and food particles from between your teeth and along the gumline.
  • Check-ups:
We recommend routine dental check-ups every six months. This allows us to detect issues early when they are far easier—and less costly—to treat.
  • X-rays:
Dental x-rays should be taken every two years. They help identify problems such as decay between teeth and under fillings.
  • Protecting Enamel:
To protect your tooth enamel, avoid brushing for at least 20 minutes after eating. Many foods are acidic and can temporarily soften enamel, which increases the risk of damage if you brush immediately after meals.

Dental Care for Children

  • When Teeth Come In:
On average, children have all 20 primary (baby) teeth by age two, though this can vary.
  • Brushing Habits:
Encourage your child to brush with a small, soft-bristled toothbrush using a pea-sized amount of children’s toothpaste. Supervise young children to ensure they are cleaning every tooth effectively.
  • Drink Choices:
Water is always the best option for children’s teeth. Soft drinks, juices, and even milk (which contains natural sugars) can lead to tooth decay if consumed in excess.
  • First Adult Teeth:
The first adult teeth typically begin to emerge around age six.
  • First Dental Visit:
We recommend your child’s first dental visit occurs between 2½ and 3 years old. At this gentle appointment, your dentist will check that all primary teeth are present and healthy.

If you have any questions about what to expect or how to maintain excellent oral health for your family, our team is always here to help. We look forward to welcoming you and supporting you on your dental health journey!
